Contrary to perception, fast growing loblolly from improved genetics does not translate into inferior wood.
We have heard the myth repeatedly for decades that fast-growing loblolly pine families will have poor wood quality. Again, this simply is not true. There is no unfavorable genetic relationship between growth rate and wood quality in loblolly pine. Sound crazy? Let’s take a look.
